Dr Abbas Mistry is an accomplished Plastic Surgeon, having graduated from the famed K.E.M Hospital and Seth G.S Medical College, Mumbai.
He passed his M.S. (General Surgery) in 1986 and M.Ch. (Plastic Surgery) in 1990, and subsequently continued working as a lecturer till 1993.
During his tenure at the K.E.M. Hospital, he worked with Dr. K.S. Goleria and Dr. S.R. Tambwekar, both pioneers in the field of Craniofacial surgery and Microsurgery respectively. Since 1993 he is in private practice.
  • He is a faculty member at ETHICON Institute of Surgical Education, a division Johnson & Johnson for Microsurgery.
  • He was awarded TRAVELLING FELLOWSHIP by the Association of Plastic Surgeon of India-The National Fellowship for the year 1992.
  • He has been the President of Maharashtra Association of Plastic Surgeons from the year 2018 to 2020.
  • At present he is Head of Department of Reconstructive and Plastic surgery in Saifee Hospital.
Apart from his clinical and academic achievements he is involved in various social and community activities. He was the Chairman & Commissioner (M) for Maharashtra District Div. of St. John Ambulance Brigade.
He was the Joint Secretary for Burhani International Medical Association - an Association of Dawoodi Bohra doctors giving medical aid to the needy & poor till 2003.
He is a member of ANJUMAN-E-SHIATE ALI.
He is also the Trustee Member of AMATULLAH AAISAHEBA MEMORIAL TRUST since 2000. Other honorary organizational and administrative posts currently held by him are :
